About the event

This is a relaxed and friendly tournament for all archers, and an ideal introduction to competition for new archers. For beginners our informal judge will guide you through bow checking, expected clothing, how to shoot in a competition, and offer advice on scoring and competition etiquette. It all seems quite daunting but is actually easy and lots of fun!

VENUE   Sports Hall, John Mason School, Wootton Road, Abingdon, OX14 1JB

ROUND   Portsmouth (5 dozen arrows @ 20 yd on 60 cm face-vertical 3-spot face by request)

·  Session A   Sun 11th Feb, assembly @ 8.45 am;  sighters after assembly.               29/12/23   14 SPACES

·  Session B   Sun 11th Feb; assembly @ 11.45 pm; sighters after assembly.              29/12/23   8 SPACES

·  Session C   Sun 11th Feb; assembly @ 14.45 am; sighters after assembly.             29/12/23   ESSENTIALLY FULL!!!

CLOSING DATE Friday 2nd February 2023 or earlier if fully booked (entries after this date, or if already full, will depend on cancellations)

ENTRY FEES  £10 per archer (single); £15 per archer (double)

(Double rounds welcome, but will only be confirmed once single rounds have been accommodated; Refunds of £5 will be given on the day for archers paying for double rounds who do not secure a second round)

DRESS CODE   GNAS dress regulations are encouraged but not essential. Please wear soft-soled shoes.

GNAS CARDS   Current GNAS cards must be available if asked for.

JUNIORS   Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

PHOTOGRAPHY  In accordance with the GNAS Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults Policy, those who wish to take photographs must register on arrival.

PRIZES  Prizes will be awarded for all bow types and age groups across the whole day i.e. at the end of session C. ‘Parent and Child’ and ‘Novice’ prizes are also offered – please indicate on form.

REFRESHMENTS  Hot drinks and snacks will be available
