SADLY, DUE TO CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS, WE ARE UNABLE TO ALLOW VISITING ARCHERS TO JOIN OUR SHOOTING SESSIONS. WE WILL REVISE THIS RESTRICTION AS AND WHEN GOVERNMENT ADVICE ALLOWS US TO.

Visiting archers are welcome to take part at any of our club shoots, but will need to bring Archery GB ID (membership card) and pay visitors fees to shoot. These are currently £5 (senior) or £3 (junior) per shoot for indoor archery and £3/£1 per shoot for outdoor. Please do introduce yourself to club members on arrival so that we can run through how our shoots operate.

We are particularly keen to welcome archers who would like to try out Clout and Wand archery, which we run throughout the summer season, with specific start times (see right, and below). We also have a monthly club shoot of specific rounds as listed, all with a start time of 10.00 am.

A full calendar of events in club can be found here, and is updated at times through the year. An alternative calendar by event type can be found here. Please do email the club via chair@harlequinbowmen.org.uk to confirm events are running as scheduled: weather and other circumstances occasionally mean we have to cancel planned clout and wand events.

Shooting Times

We have access to the middle playing-fields at Harwell throughout the year, all day on Sundays and most Saturdays, other than when rugby matches are taking place (usually Saturday afternoons), or other HLRA events are organised (typically 2-3 times during the year). Click on the 'location' tag above to see where we shoot.

During the summer we also have evening access to the HLRA playing fields on Tuesdays, from 4.30 pm – dusk and on Fridays from 2.00 pm – dusk.

During the Winter season we retain use of the field on Saturdays and Sundays, as above. In the week we have shooting every friday, from 6.00-8.30 pm and (more or less) every other Tuesday from 7.30-9.30 pm. All indoor shooting takes place at John Mason School in Abingdon.

By arrangement with HLRA we are often able to have further access to the field during main holiday times, notably over Christmas and Easter. These do not usually get added to the club calendar.
