Join Harlequin Bowmen

Harlequin Bowmen is a friendly, welcoming archery club for people who want to enjoy the sport safely, improve their shooting, and become part of an active local archery community.

Whether you are completely new to archery, returning after time away, transferring from another club, or simply want to support the club as a non-shooting member, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Archery is a safe and enjoyable sport when the correct range procedures are followed. For that reason, all shooting members must either have completed a recognised beginners course, be a current member of another archery club, or complete a short safety assessment with one of our coaches before joining.

Why join Harlequin Bowmen?

As a member of Harlequin Bowmen, you can enjoy regular access to club shooting, support from experienced archers and coaches, and the chance to take part in a relaxed but enthusiastic club environment.

Members can shoot socially, work towards personal goals, take part in club activities, and, if they wish, progress into competitions. We welcome archers of different ages, experience levels and bow styles, from those just starting out to experienced archers looking for a new club.

Harlequin Bowmen is also a great place to continue developing after a beginners course. You will be able to practise regularly, learn from other members, and build confidence on the range at your own pace.

Who can join

If you have not completed a recognised beginners course and have not previously been a member of an archery club, you will need to complete a beginners course before joining as a shooting member.

Have-a-go sessions, taster sessions and activity days are a great introduction to archery, but they do not provide the full training needed to shoot independently as a club member.

To join as a shooting member, one of the following must apply.

Membership enquiry

Interested in joining Harlequin Bowmen but not sure what to do next? Use this form to get in touch and we’ll help point you in the right direction.

If you have previously completed a beginners course or have been a member of another archery club but are not currently shooting, you may need to complete a short assessment with one of our coaches before joining. This is simply to make sure you are confident, safe on the range, and familiar with standard archery safety procedures.

Please include a brief summary of your archery experience, including where you have shot before, when you last shot regularly, and whether you currently hold Archery GB membership.

If you are completely new to archery, you will need to complete one of our beginners courses before applying for shooting membership.
