Harlequin Junior Bowmen are a club in there own right attached to Harlequin Bowmen and have a representative on the main committee.

 

Juniors shoot at the same time as the seniors, on Tuesday and Friday evenings and Sundays.

Junior archers are split up into two groups, then further divided into their age groups, as shown in the revised table below.
The new changes will have an impact on the rounds apprpriate to younger archers, affecting handicap ratings and classifications.

For many years boys have shot one round above the girls of the same age. Adults do the same; gents’ rounds are generally longer distances than the ladies.

The new rules will mean:
No change to boys Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18;

Boys Under 12 will continue to shoot the Bristol IV or  Metric IV as their first involvement with record status tournaments;

Rounds currently appropriate for girls Under 13 are now extended to Under 14; &

Rounds appropriate for girls Under 12 will shoot Bristol V or Metric V as their first involvement with record status tournaments.

Latest  Junior news release from the GNAS.

As from April 1st 2010, GNAS abolished the Junior Girls Under 13 age group.

Junior Girl age groups will now be divided into four groups, namely Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18.

This means the Under 13's will no longer have to compete with the
Under 16’s.

Hoorah!  
Girls Under 13 removed and replaced with Under 12 and Under 14.
