Junior Postal Competitions
Do you want to know how you compare to other juniors at other clubs around the country? Well you can by entering in one (or both!) of the postal competitions specifically for juniors only…
July Nationals
During the summer the club encourages the juniors to enter the July Nationals postal competition. The round involves juniors shooting six dozen arrows on one of the National rounds appropriate for their age group. Their best scores are entered, against juniors from all around the country.
Juniors can shoot the round as many times as they like - but you only send in one score, which should be the best you have shot in the month of July. It's really as simple as that! Submit the best score card to the club’s Junior Representative who will then forward the score to GNAS for processing.
Section winners will receive a small award from the GNAS.
Distance (yds) and number of arrows (dozens)
November Challenge
Another postal competition takes place in the autumn, which is known as the November Challenge. This time the best three dozen arrows of their Portsmouth rounds, shot in November, are entered against other juniors from around the country.
The Portsmouth consists of a round of five dozen arrows shot at 20 yards on a 60cm face. Before starting juniors must decide if the first three dozen or the last three dozen will be used for entering the November Challenge.
Results of the July Nationals and November Challenge are published on the GNAS website.
Go on have a go!
